Support Groups

  • Emphasize the individuals' role in maintaining their well-being
  • Provide information on the latest treatments and techniques

  • Teach coping skills and provide encouragement and support from people that are going through similar experiences

  • Affirm and validate one's own experiences, while decreasing any feelings of isolation

  • Connect members to local information on resources and personal advocacy services from a consumer's point of view

  • Help members overcome obstacles in the community or social services system
  • Promote health and wellness in the community for people
struggling with mental and physical illnesses
  • Serve as an adjunct to therapy for those that cannot otherwise access services due to insurance issues

Leadership Group

We believe strongly in the effective way that support groups provide individual empowerment. We are striving to promote the growth of support groups in our community and have started a group learning opportunity to provide ongoing support and guidance to the leaders of both ongoing and newly developing groups.
